As you have understood, this summer will have been placed under the sign of the work-oriented discovery trip! And yes, because it is a completely last minute trip that I decided to undertake to go to Portugal! August being a month off for most French companies, so I took the opportunity to extend my stay in the South! And as if it was not warm enough in Montpellier, I decided to leave for ten days in Portugal.
Expansion strategy obliges, this trip was punctuated by several stops during which I canvassed several shops. First stop in Bayonne where I am pleased to announce that you will now find a selection of Vertical l'Accessoire braces. Yvan, creator of the pretty Le Casier boutique, opted for a majority of mid-wide straps in quite colorful tones.
After a few days on the Basque coast where I was able to meet many store managers, I'm back behind the wheel in the direction of Portugal !
First stop in Porto, a magnificent city in a very San Franciscan style… Evidenced by the photos. There, I meet Yoski, a young Japanese designer. He runs a shop in the Galerie des Lumières, he is thrilled with the brand! He therefore takes a selection of suspenders in medium size (the Portuguese are a little smaller than the French;)) in the pretty aluminum packaging. Yoski opts for sobriety with black, navy blue and burgundy straps. Having stock with me, I hire an intern (my dad) and start preparing this order together.
During my visit to Lisbon, I had the opportunity to taste one of the local specialties, the francesinha. Hearty dish featuring a kind of sandwich drowned in a spicy tomato sauce. Unappetizing, I admit, but excellent!
8 days later, it's already time to go home! We stop two days in Madrid where I go to several shops and present the pretty suspenders (Aka "los tires") which are very successful. Unfortunately, no sale has been concluded, but we believe in it, Vertical l'Accessoire will be represented in Madrid very soon!
